The Brand Name
We went back to the basics. ‘Veda’, coupled with ‘Vie’ (the French word for ‘life’) give us ‘Vieda’. The word also finds resonance in the Finnish word ‘viedä’, which means ‘to take’ or ‘bring away’. How better could we express in two syllables, everything we wanted it to mean?
Following nature as a story arc, we chose to look through every form of beauty in nature. We simplified the forms, the warp and the weft of the fabric of creation. Unique shapes and patterns emerged. The logotype just seemed to well up in front of us, in an organic dance.
With products as unique and lovely as these, it seemed counter intuitive to hide them in packaging. ‘The beauty within’ became our theme for the design logic. A glimpse of the natural ingredient; the natural colours that are closest to the original, and little else was needed. Some products are so unique, we let them peek through the packaging, so the customer can have a better look at them on the shelf.
